Texas A&M adds commitment from top East Coast DL
On Friday afternoon, Texas A&M received a present from the nation’s capital — as 2017 defensive end Tyree Johnson announced his pledge to the Aggies’ program on Twitter.

A 3-star prospect (courtesy of 247Sports), Johnson chose Texas A&M over offers from Auburn, Duke, Iowa, Kentucky, Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech, among others.
At 6-foot-3.5, 247 pounds, Johnson is an explosive player off the edge. Possessing a strong base, he’s able to hold up against bigger players — whilst also using his speed to disengage against/run around hulking tackles.
With Daeshon Hall graduating, and Myles Garrett (barring injury) likely leaving after this year, there’s an open depth chart for Johnson to potentially impact from the get-go.
Without question, this is a very nice pickup for the Aggies.
