Week 8 was quite strange around the SEC. From some notable upsets to some truly terrible calls, there was a lot to take in for fans.

But, which things were the worst of the worst? Let’s break down the 5 worst things that happened in the SEC this weekend.

5. Mizzou’s loss to Vanderbilt

Um, what? The Tigers are now 5-0 at home and 0-2 on the road with losses to Wyoming and to 1-5 Vanderbilt. The Commodores controlled this game from the start in another ugly loss for Barry Odom’s squad.

There was some good to come out of this, though, as Derek Mason’s postgame interview was something to behold.

4. Joe Burrow’s butt

Yes, everyone wants to see more of the LSU quarterback this year, but (butt?) not like this. Burrow unintentionally mooned the entire Starkville crowd in what we’re calling his “HeisMoon moment.”

After the game, Burrow had a great response to the moment.

3. SEC officials

SEC referees didn’t do the best job on Saturday. From South Carolina to Tuscaloosa, no one was particularly happy.

In the South Carolina-Florida game, coach Will Muschamp had to be restrained by assistants after officials missed a blatant offensive pass interference call on a Florida touchdown play. Fans responded by throwing towels and trash on the field. Muschamp had some fiery words for the officials after the game, even muttering “gutless” when discussing the unsportsmanlike penalty he received.

Later in the day, Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt called out the refs at halftime.

2. Jarrett Guarantano’s fumble

Trailing Alabama 28-13 on Saturday night, the Tennessee Volunteers were mere inches away from making it a one-score game. Instead, QB Jarrett Guarantano fumbled on a QB sneak and Alabama DB Trevon Diggs returned it 100 yards for a touchdown:

After the play, Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt was spotted yelling at Guarantano and pulling his facemask. That sparked quite the reaction around the country.

1. Arkansas’s fake punt

The Razorbacks continue to be a punchline, and the fake punt they ran against Auburn on Saturday was one of the worst things we’ve ever seen. I mean, come on, just look at this disaster:

The crazy thing is that coach Chad Morris said the Hogs had been working on this play FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. That was not time well spent.
