Todd McShay’s time at ESPN has come to an end. The prominent NFL Draft expert and college football analyst is one of the ESPN on-air personalities being laid off, according to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.

McShay has been part of ESPN’s NFL Draft coverage since 2006, the year he joined the network after previously working for a start-up scouting publication, The War Room (1999-2006), which ESPN purchased in 2006 and renamed Scouts Inc.

McShay joined ESPN’s commentator team for the NFL Draft telecast in 2009. In 2011, he made his first appearance on ESPN’s main set at the site of the NFL Draft. Ten years later, he made his Round 1 debut, providing analysis on ABC in primetime for the 2021 NFL Draft.

As a college football analyst, McShay made his debut as a field reporter in 2014. He worked alongside Steve Levy and Brian Griese on Saturday afternoon games from 2016-19. In 2020, McShay joined Sean McDonough and Todd Blackledge on ESPN Saturday Night Primetime. McShay was a year-round contributor on many ESPN shows and platforms, including “College Football Live” and “SportsCenter.”

ESPN’s layoffs have included prominent on-air personalities including Max Kellerman, Keyshawn Johnson, Jay Williams, Jeff Van Gundy, Jalen Rose, LaPhonso Ellis, Suzy Kobler and Steve Young.

We’ll see what’s next for McShay and others.
