Updated Heisman odds: Fournette still favored but Big 12 catching up
Remember earlier in the year when the SEC had several Heisman Trophy contenders? Names like Jeremy Johnson, Nick Chubb and Chad Kelly were popping up in Las Vegas.
Well, those players are long gone from the Heisman conversation, but the SEC still has the nation’s front-runner in LSU running back Leonard Fournette. The sophomore is the heavy favorite with 1/2 odds.
Fournette has competition for the trophy, though. Big 12 gunslingers Seth Russell and Trevone Boykin are right behind him as is Alabama running back Derrick Henry. Other SEC players are off the board following Week 7, including Texas A&M quarterback Kyle Allen (previously at 45/1) and Aggies defensive end Myles Garrett (previously at 75/1), according to Bovada.
BOVADA’S UPDATED HEISMAN ODDS (last week’s odds in parenthesis):
