The Ohio State board of trustees is meeting Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. ET to discuss the findings from the university’s investigation into Urban Meyer.

The two-week investigation of Meyer by the independent working group centers around domestic violence allegations in 2015 against former assistant Zach Smith made by his ex-wife Courtney Smith. The investigation is focussed on when Meyer knew, how much he knew and how he handled them.

Investigators briefed the trustees during a three-hour informal meeting on Monday afternoon regarding their findings.

Ohio State also released a statement Monday afternoon saying that no decisions would be made during the meeting regarding Meyer’s future.

Although the board of trustees will meet Wednesday morning, it’s still unclear when a decision will be made by President Michael Drake. He’ll announce his final decision on Ohio State’s head coach after consulting with the board.

It was reported on Monday that sources close to the investigation said that Meyer will remain the Ohio State head coach and his only punishment could be a suspension. There’s also a possibility for a “time served” punishment as well, meaning that Meyer can return immediately because he’s already served his suspension time during his administrative leave.

Meyer has been on leave since August 1, and  offensive coordinator Ryan Day is the acting head coach. Ohio State has Meyer under contract through 2022, as he’ll make $7.6 million this season.

Ohio State opens the season Saturday, September 1 against Oregon State in Ohio Stadium.

A lot has been made recently of Urban Meyer’s contract. Since the news of Zach Smith broke, must attention has been given to the contract and the various clauses within it. USA Today did research and found that Meyer’s contract is among the strictest in the Big Ten. Read here for more details.
