During a press conference on Wednesday night, after coach Urban Meyer was suspended for the first three games of the 2018 season for failing to properly report a 2015 domestic violence incident involving former WR coach Zach Smith, Meyer noticeably avoided mentioning Courtney Smith when issuing an apology to “Buckeye Nation.”

In the two days since, Meyer has been blasted by the media and fans across the country, and it appears he’s heard those complaints.

On Friday evening, Meyer apologized for his “words and demeanor” on Wednesday and issued an overdue apology to the alleged victim in the 2015 incident, as you can see in the tweet below:

Critics will say that this is too little, too late, especially after the defiant, disinterested tone Meyer struck on Wednesday.

For what it’s worth, though, an apology has been issued (again), and this time, the alleged victim was actually mentioned by name.
