LOOK: Media members, fans rip Urban Meyer's long-overdue apology to Courtney Smith
After not mentioning Courtney Smith, the alleged victim of a 2015 domestic violence incident involving former Ohio State WR coach Zach Smith, Urban Meyer finally tweeted an apology to her on Friday evening.
However, many fans and media members felt Meyer’s apology was too little, too late, especially since so much time had passed following his underwhelming statement on Wednesday.
As you can see below, fans and media personalities took to Twitter shortly after Meyer’s apology came out to rip him for the timing:

The chances that Meyer wrote this statement are roughly equal to the chances that he wrote the Bible. https://t.co/5OzcOqw1Pb

Given his extensive memory issues it’s very impressive that Urban Meyer remembered to do this. https://t.co/gGMF0X4h0a

Very little about this situation has been handled well, and that continued on Friday evening, when the Buckeyes tried to use a Friday afternoon news to slip his apology out on Twitter.
Meyer’s reputation has taken a serious dive in the wake of this scandal, and as he serves his three-game suspension, his future in Columbus will continue to be debated.
