HOOVER, Ala. — Booger McFarland is one of the original analysts for SEC Network, so he’s seen it grow into the monster it is today.

McFarland was kind enough to join the Saturday Down South set Monday at SEC Media Days. We talked about the state of the defensive line in the conference, as an awful lot of talent from last year has moved on to the NFL.

Additionally, McFarland talked about coach Ed Orgeron taking over for Les Miles at his alma mater on a full-time basis. Like McFarland, Orgeron is from a small town in Louisiana. Is Orgeron going to be given a longer leash at LSU since he’s a local guy and only in his first full season? That depends if he starts out 2-2, of course.
