Florida State coach Mike Martin has never won a College World Series title, but he is still a legendary coach who leads college baseball in career wins.

However, in his final season as the Seminoles’ skipper, the team saw its run in Omaha come to an end with a 4-1 loss to Texas Tech on Wednesday.

As you can see below, Martin delivered an inspirational message to his players on his way out as manager, which illustrates why he was such a great coach:

Martin won 2,029 games with the Seminoles and made the postseason in each of his 40 years at the helm of the program.

He never won a College World Series title, but his career will be remembered for a long time to come.
