It’s already been a rough year for Louisiana sports fans when it comes to dealing with referees. LSU LB Devin White was suspended for the first half of the Alabama game due to a controversial targeting call against Mississippi State.

On Sunday afternoon, it was the New Orleans Saints’ turn to be hosed by the refs, this time during the NFC Championship Game.

As you can see below, with the game tied at 20, a Rams defensive back committed a clear pass interference penalty (and possible targeting), but wasn’t flagged:

The Saints should have had a first down there, but instead, they had to settle for a field goal to take a 23-20 lead with just under two minutes remaining. The Rams, with plenty of time, came down the field to tie the score at 23 and send the game to overtime.

LSU fans put up billboards outside SEC offices in Birmingham after the Devin White situation. Could billboards be coming outside the NFL offices in New York City soon?
