South Carolina football pledge Mike Williams, a 3-star offensive lineman in the Class of 2024, announced Tuesday that he will be de-committing from South Carolina.
Williams, not to be confused with 5-star wide receiver prospect Mike Williams, had been committed to South Carolina for just over a month, committing to Beamer and the Gamecocks on April 19, 2023.
He wrote the following on social media Tuesday evening:
After further consideration I would like to announce that I will be decommiting from the University of South Carolina and re-opening my recruitment. Thank you to all the coaches at the University of South Carolina.

Williams is rated as the No. 104 offensive tackle prospect and the No. 34 player out of the state of Maryland in the Class of 2024 rankings, per 247Sports.
Michigan State seems to be a potential reason for Williams’ de-commitment. The 3-star OT has an official visit to East Lansing scheduled for June.
