Frustrated South Carolina fan calls into Will Muschamp radio show to suggest he wear a different kind of mask
It just means more in the SEC. When you’re off to an 0-2 start coming off of a disappointing season the year before, it just means more angry callers on the weekly radio show.
On Will Muschamp’s weekly radio show, one frustrated South Carolina fan snuck in a question past the call screener by saying it was related to COVID and masks. The question was about a mask, but it did not have to do with COVID.
“Have you and the coaches thought about wearing ski masks? That would make it easier to steal money from (South Carolina athletic director) Ray Tanner,” the caller said, according to Josh Kendall of The Athletic.
Kendall shared that Muschamp at least “got a good laugh” out of the caller’s question. As Gamecock fans are well-aware, Muschamp is set to make around $4 million this year.
Muschamp is 26-27 in his South Carolina tenure, including a 4-11 mark over the Gamecocks’ last 15 games, dating back to the Belk Bowl loss to Virginia. Muschamp and company will try to turn it around on Saturday against Vanderbilt.
Muschamp got a good chuckle? The no good bum should have been embarrassed and ashamed.
It’s kind of true …
Tanner needs to go for starters
Definitely…those two(2) should be a “package deal”.
If Tanner doesn’t get fired first it will be for naught if Muschump gets fi red first.
Tanner was a great coach. He is not AD material. The top coaches we have at USC were hires from the previous AD. Tanner lacks certain skills and abilities for the AD position that require control of process. He lacked the knowledge to control the last football hire process before Muschamp was even named as head coach. To right the ship the AD and HFC need to be replaced AT THE SAME TIME. Otherwise our program will be in a similar position in the future. Ray is a good guy, definitely. He is not AD material and this is not OJT.
Muschamp has been laughing for some time now. Let’s face it, he was never the #1 pick, as Tanner even lost that battle. The gamecock football program is a mess….a hot mess. They probably think a Vandy win will make all this go away. No it will not.
Please just move Tanner back to the head coach of the baseball team and move Chump to DC. We can find another AD and head coach.
Called isn’t wrong. WM made $4.4 mill last year. That’s $1.1 mill per win…and one of those was Charleston Southern.
$1.1 mill to beat Chas So, ridiculous.
The Gamecocks’ frustration ends today. Vanderbilt will have a great defensive gameplan, and the players will be in place to make the tackles, but it will look like South Carolina’s players are greased pigs. There will be at least 10-15 missed tackles, where the SC player gains an extra 5-10 yards.
Believe it or not, Vanderbilt is only #3 in total missed tackles per game. Can you guess who #1 and #2 are?
1. Oklahoma
2. Texas
You guys baffle me. One of my kids was recruited by SC. Y’all have VERY competitive facilities, and athlete support programs. You’re in the heart of the most fertile recruiting geography. You have great academics. Excellent coaches (except apparently on game day). You should be running rings around Clemson. I love agent Muschamp, and it hurts me to say this. But, it’s probably time to search for an upgrade.
Look, South Carolina has been the underdog two weeks in a row and beat the spread in both games. In their first game as a favorite, they smoked the competition. Let’s wait and see how this year goes.
I don’t think Colin Hill is the answer. He is not very mobile and takes a lot of sacks. SC will have to game play differently against stout defenses like Georgia.
