Good news to share from Columbia as South Carolina has just announced an increase in attendance for Founders Park.

Capacity for the stadium will go up from 1,938 to 3,350 for the rest of the season as the Gamecocks have one of the best baseball teams not just in the SEC, but in the nation this season.

According to South Carolina, this change will result in a seating increase to 50 percent of Founders Park’s fixed chairback seats and bleacher seating. With the new capacity limits, South Carolina will be one of seven Southeastern Conference schools with a baseball capacity of between 40-55 percent.

This news comes just in time as the Gamecocks are set to host No. 1 Arkansas for a weekend series starting on Thursday. The increase in capacity at Founders Park will be in place in time for the start of the series against the Razorbacks.
