Jammie Robinson’s time in Columbia appears to have come to an end.

A starting safety for South Carolina this season, Robinson registered 135 tackles, two interceptions and eight pass breakups in his two seasons with the Gamecock program.

Following the dismissal of Will Muschamp in Columbia, along with the expected departure of defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson (no relation to Jammie), the defensive back has entered the NCAA transfer portal. This news was first reported by Josh Kendall of The Athletic.

Coming out of Lee County High School in Georgia as a member of the 2019 recruiting cycle, Robinson signed with South Carolina over scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky and Tennessee, among others.

Robinson was named to the 2019 Freshman All-SEC (Coaches) team as well as Pro Football Focus’ Second-Team Freshman All-American team.

Look for Robinson to be one of the most coveted defensive back prospects in the transfer portal this offseason, as he should have a long list of suitors to pick from should he ultimately decide to leave the Gamecock program.
