LaNorris Sellers earns national recognition for performance against Missouri
LaNorris Sellers and the South Carolina Gamecocks picked up a win in 1 of the most exciting games in Week 12 as they knocked off Missouri, 34-30.
There were 31 points scored in the fourth quarter, including 2 touchdowns in the final 1:10. The Tigers took the lead after Brady Cook hit Luther Burden III on a 37-yard touchdown with 1:10 left to give Missouri the 30-27 lead.
However, Sellers led the Gamecocks down the field and hit Raheim Sanders on a 15-yard touchdown to take the lead with 15 seconds left. It was the best performance of his young career, as Sellers completed 21-of-30 passes for 353 yards and 5 touchdowns.
For that performance, he was named The Walter Camp National Player of the Week.

In the video, his aunt and grandma sent him a message saying how big of fans they are of him. Sellers has been playing his best football recently, as he has thrown for 1,010 yards, 10 touchdowns and 1 interception in his last 4 games.
The Gamecocks may be on the outside looking in when it comes to the College Football Playoff rankings, but there are few teams playing better than them right now. They will host Wofford in Week 13 and then follow that up by ending the season at Clemson.
Might be the best young QB in the league.
He is playing some really good football the last few games.
GO COCKS
The sky is the limit for this young man, I’m excited to see just how far he can go in his time with us in Columbia
He’s going to need to revert back to eyeglasses and add in a phone booth if he keeps pulling a Houdini when defenders grab onto him in the backfield, but in the venerable words of Edna Mode, “No capes!”
Good take!
I think his vision is better on the field without the eyeglasses, especially his peripheral vision. I don’t know a lot about Florence SC so LaNorris is the best thing that I have ever seen come out of FLorence and it is unofficially moved up to my third most favorite SC city after Columbia and Beaufort.
