South Carolina earned a commitment from a 2022 hoops prospect on Tuesday.

Daniel Hankins-Sanford, a 6-foot-8 wing from Charlotte, announced on Twitter he is “110% committed” to the Gamecocks.

“First and foremost I’d like to thank the Lord because without him I would not be where I am today,” Hankins-Sanford said. “Second, I would like to thank my entire family, especially my mom, dad, sisters, and brothers, for believing in me and supporting me throughout my journey.

“I’m thankful for the entire Julius Chambers coaching staff, my teachers, and mentors, all of whom helped mold me into the young man I am today. I’d like to thank the college coaches who took their time to get to know me and my family throughout this process. I really appreciate it.”

A 3-star forward in the class of 2022, Hankins-Sanford is the second known pledge for the Gamecocks in the class. He held offers from Appalachian State, South Florida, Tennessee, Charlotte, Winthrop, Western Carolina, Mercer, and James Madison.
