South Carolina fired coach Will Muschamp on Sunday night, and there are already a few potential replacements emerging.

According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, the job is likely to go to one of Hugh Freeze, Billy Napier or Jamey Chadwell.

Freeze is a well-known figure, especially in the SEC. He resigned as Ole Miss’ head coach in 2017 after the university looked into his phone records and found a “concerning pattern.”

However, Freeze was able to land the Liberty job in 2019 and has taken that program to new heights. Liberty is currently ranked No. 21 in the AP Poll and is 8-0 this season. Freeze is 16-5 overall in nearly two years on the job.

Freeze is primed to land in the SEC and soon.

Napier is another candidate that should draw major attention from Power 5 openings this offseason. He’s 25-11 at Louisiana, which includes a 7-1 start to this season and an 11-3 campaign in 2019.

Chadwell is the newest name to keep an eye on. He has Coastal Carolina rolling with one of the most dynamic offenses in all of college football. Chadwell turned in two double-digit win seasons at Charleston Southern before taking the Coastal job.

Former Colorado State head coach Mike Bobo is currently the interim.
