At least three key calls in the first half of the Alabama-South Carolina game left several observers wondering if the officials made the correct call. In fact, many South Carolina fans complained that the missed calls were egregious.

The first came on a fake field goal attempt by South Carolina where the Gamecocks were flagged for holding on the edge. That wiped out a would-be touchdown for the Gamecocks.

The next call came later in the first half when Alabama fielded a punt deep in its own territory when South Carolina fans believed there was a blatant hold against the Crimson Tide.

A third example came when South Carolina had a would-be touchdown by RB Rico Dowdle, but instead he was ruled down after a first down play, a sliver outside of the end zone.

During his radio view coming off the field at halftime, coach Will Muschamp said, “We’re fine, we got to get some breaks, we got to create them on our own, I can tell you on this day.”

As it stood, Alabama led 24-10 at halftime.
