South Carolina will reportedly be having the No. 1 prospect from the 2025 class over for a visit on Sunday. The news was reported by On3 Sports’ Wes Mitchell.

Elijah Griffin is a 5-star DL from the 2025 class per the 247Sports Composite. Not only is he the No. 1 prospect in his class, but he is the No. 1 DL and top prospect from his home state of Georgia as well.

A host of SEC programs have offered Griffin so far. Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Kentucky have all offered Griffin.

It’s easy to see why many teams are interested in him. Griffin comes in at 6-foot-3.5, 270 pounds and he’s still in high school.

South Carolina caused two major upsets in the college football world in 2022. In back-to-back weeks the Gamecocks upset No. 5 Tennessee and No. 8 Clemson.

Shane Beamer coached his team to an eight-win season and an appearance in the Gator Bowl against Notre Dame. South Carolina fought till the end but ended up losing to Notre Dame 45-38.

In Griffin’s highlight tape he can be seen dominating offensive lineman. If South Carolina could lock down his commitment for the future, he would be a huge grab for the program.
