Austin Stogner was expected to be a notable part of the South Carolina offense after his transfer from Oklahoma. But the tight end on Monday entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports, including Chris Hummer.

Stogner appeared in 12 games, and made 20 catches for 210 yards and a touchdown. Stogner split time with Jaheim Bell and Nate Adkins as he started 10 games this season.

He was a 2020 Second-Team All-Big 12 selection by the Associated Press, and was expected to contribute in a big way to the Gamecocks’ offense. Entering the 2022 season, Stogner was pegged as a pre-season fourth-team All-SEC selection by Phil Steele.

At Oklahoma, Stogner played tight end/H-Back for 3 years at OU under coach Lincoln Riley, and made 10 starts as he appeared in 34 games. He caught 47 passes for 654 yards.

There are now 6 Gamecocks in the portal: Stogner, LB Darryle Ware, DB Joey Hunter, OL Jordan Davis, DB R.J. Roderick and DB Cam Hardy.
