Spencer Rattler let East Carolina fans have it after South Carolina beat the Pirates on the court on Saturday, 68-62.

A pregame video showed a cameo of Rattler wishing the Pirates well because he thought they were a high school team.

Rattler clarified his appearance on the video after the win with a comeback.

“Hey Pirates, you guys left out a little information on the cameo. I thought you were a high school team wanting some motivation,” said Rattler. “Anyways, looked like you could’ve used some today. Go Gamecocks.”

It looks like East Carolina may have needed some motivation after all. Meechie Johnson and Myles Stute led South Carolina in scoring with 15 points each. B.J. Mack was close behind with 13 points.

The Pirates were outrebounded 35-32 in the loss.

The Gamecocks responded well after a tough loss to Clemson on Wednesday. South Carolina faces Charleston Southern next on Dec. 16.

Tipoff will be at 6 p.m. ET live from Columbia on SEC Network+/ESPN+.
