Shane Beamer likes to say “Welcome Home” on social media when players, and even assistant coaches show their commitment to joining the South Carolina program. Today, he had to make an alteration to that message: Welcome back home.

Former South Carolina football commitment Anthony Rose is now back in the fold about a month and a half after the Florida defensive back decommitted, according to The Big Spur. He originally committed in February. The Miami, Florida (Miami Central) native picked the Gamecocks over finalists Penn State and Arizona. He is 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds and listed as a safety. He is rated the No. 60 player in the state of Florida, and the No. 31 safety in America in the class of 2022 by the 247Sports Composite. Rose has a reported 18 offers.

Rose visited South Carolina on June 7. He decommitted from South Carolina on May 12, and then reportedly looked at Penn State and Maryland.

“That’s what really shocked me,” Rose said after that visit, The Big Spur reported. “Even though I was decommitted, they still showed me so much love, like I was still a top priority. I was their top priority. They still treated me like I was the No. 1 player they wanted.”
