Will Muschamp announced that redshirt sophomore DB Kaleb Chalmers is transferring from the South Carolina program.

The 2017 signee’s time wasn’t long in Columbia, as he is seeking more playing time.

“He came to me and wanted more playing time,” Muschamp said (via 247Sports). “We certainly wish him well.”

Chalmers originally started his career at Clemson before heading to Northwest Mississippi C.C. and then to South Carolina, and now, he’s on the move again.

The Greenwood, South Carolina native is a former 3-star DB and was ranked as the nation’s No. 65 overall JUCO player in 2017, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Chalmers played in just two games in 2017, all on special teams.
