Will Muschamp calls for fans not to throw things on field vs. Clemson, makes great joke
The South Carolina Gamecocks will end their regular season on Nov. 30 against rival Clemson.
That game, which will be played at Williams-Brice Stadium, is sure to be intense. Last time Gamecock fans were locked in a tight game that didn’t go their way, trash was thrown on the field.
During his radio show on Wednesday night, coach Will Muschamp called for fans and students to avoid throwing things on the field. He followed it up with a great joke:
And what a great next comment from Muschamp (paraphrasing):
As much brown water as some of those students have taken in, they're not gonna hit anything anyway … https://t.co/ZXE1ESSOQs

He certainly has a point, as smuggling alcohol into SEC stadiums is a tradition as old as time.
But, hopefully, fans do avoid pelting the field with trash, as that’s not a good look for anyone involved.
Really?
Tell the ACC refs not to screw over USC by throwing 2 flags on Clemson and 9 on USC in 2017. I know the ACC screw job is coming to protect their only shot for the playoffs, they screwed us when we were in the conference and continue to screw after we left. Go look at the reffing close Clemson games in the playoff era you will the ACC openly screwing their opponents.
When the SEC can’t beat Clemson in the playoffs they grasp for straws. What a joke you people are…
So spot on tax man. They act like a bunch of whining, crying, snowflakes, who can’t take losing.
You know you’re on a website dedicated to the SEC you bum
Ha. Tax Can, the klempsum fan responded to her own post with her shadow klempsum profile, Valley of the Cringe
Dog you lost that game 34-10 stop complaining about the refs.
#supersalty
#soreloser
#poorloser
The trash will be directed at Chump not klempson.
You could be right on that, Bcreek. MissChamp might be a tempting target if it’s 35-0 in the middle of the 2nd quarter.
Grammar an issue as well? Or just spelling and pronunciation?
In other news, South Carolina is looking to beef up its healthy wide receiver corps consisting of walk-ons and third string quarterbacks. Cheerleaders are encouraged to apply.
Living in SC I have some good friends that are the exception to the rule when it come to gamecock fans but I have to say the gamecock fans maybe the worst in college football. They have thrown things on the field and yes they upset Ga and I’m not taking that away from them but there was no need to vandalize the field by pulling out the hedges. Sore winners and sore losers. Keep it classy cocks.
Amen they are jerks win or lose. They act like they are somebody. They are one of the most underacheiving programs in the history of college football.
Both of you guys are hysterical. Acting like South Carolina has the worst fan base in the nation is plain ignorant. Have South Carolina fans poisoned something like Toomer’s corner for a rival? Sexually assaulted a drunk rival after the game by tea bagging them at a fast food restaurant? Light couches on fires after games?
Has South Carolina fans vandalized a precious rock that their rivals view as a piece of their history? Oops, no… their own stupid fan base did it themselves.
Take a look at how Clempson acted in 1902 after South Carolina won that game and they literally haven’t changed in over a century. If you can’t handle a little trash talk go back to your safe space.
Stay away from the cow pastures and the banjo playing for an extended period of time before you try to post some facts.
A tight game? What the heck are you talking about? That game was over 2 minutes into the game when ole freakin Bentley threw a pick six to Ryan Carter. It was 20-0 at the half and then 27-0 after the first play of the the second half. Clemson’s defense dominated from the word go. There was nothing “tight” about that game. What is the dumb writer smoking.
I think the author was referring to the SC-Florida game this season (which was a tight game in which the Cocks did get hosed by the officiating), not the Clemson-SC game from ’17.
Yup. Trash was thrown on the field in 17 thought so I think that’s what he’s assuming.
If you run up and taunt your rivals drunk student section after a big play… all bets are off.
Rumor has it SC is currently practicing with 12 players on Offense and Defense so by time kickoff, that illegal substitution penalty can be argued..”We’been practicing with 12 players all week!”
South Carolina has a real chance in this game…..until kickoff ! I agree that the SC fans like to blame everyone else for losing, not their Head Coach & his assistants/coordinators. Put the blame where it is deserved and yes, stop acting like the “snowflakes of football fans”. concerning bottles/towels thrown on the field=Total Bush-League & there are no excuse for that, ever. Cheer your team on and delight that after Clemson crushes your Cocks…maybe the AD/Pres. will grow a pair and fire Muschamp…get him gone !
