Deion Sanders has seen his stock rise in recent years. The Jackson State head coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer has been connected to his alma mater at Florida State. And, Reggie Bush mentioned Sanders for the USC vacancy recently.

However, Coach Prime seems perfectly content at Jackson State … at least for now.

On Monday, Sanders responded to Bush’s comments, thanking the USC legend for thinking of him for the opening, but adding that he’s “locked in” at Jackson State (via the Clarion Ledger):

“I’m locked in,” Sanders said. “I’m thankful that Reggie mentioned me. I’m thankful that he thought much of our friendship that I could be a candidate or whatever. I’m appreciative of that, but I’m locked in, man. I’m locked in. I’m locked in.

“I’m right where I want to be. I’m elated I’m coaching my sons. I’m loving this culture. I want to win, wish we would have won (this past Saturday at Louisiana-Monroe), but I’m locked in.”

Having his sons at Jackson State is definitely a big plus. But, once they’ve graduated, it’ll be interesting to see what Sanders’ future holds.

He’s a great recruiter and has had OK results on the field. We’ll see if he continues to be mentioned in coaching rumors as the years go on.
