Throw in another name that’s been brought up for the vacant USC job, and it might be one that’s more than a little off the board.

The Trojans’ open position was one of major interest to 2 specific members of the FOX “Big Noon Kickoff” crew as Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush are both former USC greats. On Saturday’s episode, Bush offered up one person in particular that the Trojans could reach out to: Deion Sanders.

“When you think about what he’s done at Jackson State right now, Jackson State has the No. 55 recruiting class in the nation,” Bush said. “They’re one ahead of Kansas State, which has a significantly much-larger budget than Jackson State does. But what does that tell you? That tells you Deion knows how to recruit.”

Sanders’ personality certainly suits the West Coast lifestyle, and his name alone could certainly be a draw for recruits to come to play for him in Southern California.

While it’s not likely that Sanders is a serious candidate for USC, it would certainly represent an outside-the-box hire for athletic director Mike Bohn.

As for Jackson State, it’s currently 2-1 after wins over Florida A&M and Tennessee State and a close loss to the Sun Belt’s Louisiana-Monroe.
