Gus Malzahn gets 'knighted' as part of UCF introductory press conference
The UCF Knights officially hired former Auburn coach Gus Malzahn on Monday. They held an introductory press conference for him, complete with plenty of pomp and circumstance.
As part of the introduction, Malzahn was “knighted” by the UCF mascot.
As you can see below, he had to get down on a knee for the ceremony, then he was knighted by the Knight’s oversized sword:

Malzahn replaces Josh Heupel, who was hired to replace Jeremy Pruitt at Tennessee, following former UCF AD Danny White to Knoxville.
Malzahn went 68-35 in 8 years at Auburn, winning the conference championship during the 2013 season. How will he fare at UCF? We’ll find out starting this fall.
What a hoot! Looks like Gus had some fun. I wish him well down there.
My favorite part of this is that UCF upgraded their coach while turning Tennessee into a G5. Gus will do well down there. I look forward to the trajectory of both programs.
Gus went down a notch and Heupel went up.
Only GA is too dumb to see that.
We are definitely more ‘laid back’ than the SEC. Just ask Frost and Heupel.
But Gus already knew us pretty well in the late ’00s, not just ’17.
Poor Gus. “Knighted”? Looks like some high school bad school play. Gus couldn’t get a job in SEC. What’s next? Community college. Bad career move.
