Lincoln Riley flat out stated that he wouldn’t be LSU’s next head coach after his Oklahoma team had just lost to Oklahoma State 37-33. Riley wasn’t lying.

Instead of leaving the Sooners for LSU, Riley is apparently leaving Oklahoma to head west. According to a report by Matt Zenith of On3sports, Riley has informed his coaching staff that he is leaving Oklahoma to become the head coach at Southern California.

Riley was 55-10 in five seasons at Oklahoma and won the Big 12 in his first three seasons. He was also thought to be a primary target for several other schools, most notably LSU, which is replacing coach Ed Orgeron.
