North Carolina on Sunday unveiled a logo that has been painted on the Kenan Stadium playing surface to honor the memory of former Tar Heels wide receiver Tylee Craft, who passed away in October due to lung cancer.

Craft was part of the 2020 recruiting class in Chapel Hill, playing in seven games that year before making an appearance in four games in 2021. But the Sumter, S.C. native was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022, missing both that and the 2023 season to receive treatment for the disease. Unfortunately, on Oct. 12, the Tar Heels announced that Craft had passed away, less than 2 weeks after his birthday. The team had paid tribute to him before their game against Georgia Tech with his mother, September, in attendance.

Now, with two home games left on the Heels’ schedule, a logo with the words “Tylee Strong” and Craft’s jersey number, 13, will sit between the 20 and 30-yard lines at Kenan Stadium:

North Carolina’s next home game is on Nov. 16 against Wake Forest. After a trip to Boston College, the Heels wrap up the regular season against NC State.

Their last outing was on Nov. 2, a 35-11 win over Florida State that improved them to 5-4 overall and 2-3 in the ACC.
