Texas A&M has yet to sign a quarterback under Jimbo Fisher and with National Signing Day approaching quickly, the Aggies continue to search high and low for their next signal caller.

While A&M is still pursuing Alabama native James Foster II, the Aggies have recently extended an offer to QB Brock Purdy. Arizona’s Gatorade Football Player of the Year, Purdy has thrown for a combined 99 touchdowns over the last two high school seasons.

In one high school game, Purdy threw for 640 yards and eight touchdowns — in three quarters of action. In another contest, he tossed seven touchdowns and had over 550 yards passing.

Alabama recently offered Purdy a scholarship and invited him for an official visit to Tuscaloosa. Now Texas A&M is set to host the Arizona QB during the final weekend before National Signing Day. Iowa State and UCF are also recruiting Purdy at the moment.

It’s unlikely the latter two schools can compete with a visit to College Station if the Aggies like what they see from the Arizona QB this weekend. It will be interesting to see if this is the first signal caller that signs on to play for Fisher at Texas A&M. If so, could he factor into the QB race next fall?

Here’s a look at some of Purdy’s high school highlights:
