Texas A&M went on the road and took care of business on Saturday as the Aggies improved to 7-1 on the season after beating Auburn 31-20.

The Aggies racked up over 500 yards of total offense led by a rushing attack that had 313 yards on 47 carries (good for 6.7 yards per carry) and Kellen Mond’s efficient 18 of 23 passing for 196 yards and two touchdowns.

Isaiah Spiller, the SEC’s leading rusher this season, led the way on the ground for the Aggies with 120 rushing yards on 20 carries.

Following his team’s latest win, here is what Jimbo Fisher had to say after the game:

“I think we are growing up as a team and understanding how to play,” Fisher said. “The momentum swings don’t bother us as much anymore, we are learning to play the next play, control what you can control, answering drives.

“When they were ahead and we got a stop for a field goal, then we go get the drive, have another drive, then another drive. Critical play in the game. Our guys are growing up and learning to make plays.”

Fisher on what impressed him the most with his offense:

“The consistency. The diversion of runs we had today, consistency in the things we did, different packages and how hard we run. Our offensive line did a heck of a job, blocked well up front.”

Fisher on his message to his team after this game:

“Get ready to play Ole Miss next week. This lasts 24 hours, and in the morning, we get ready to play one game at a time.”

Next week, 7-1 Texas A&M is scheduled to host Ole Miss.
