Jimbo Fisher spoke at a Texas A&M event on Saturday and talked about the 2023 season. It sounds like Fisher is using last year as motivation.

Texas A&M missed out on a bowl game last season after ending the year at 5-7. Fisher noted that he was “still pissed off” about how things ended.

Fisher is excited about his team’s temperament, however.

“I’m still pissed off… We’ve got a chip on our shoulder,” said Fisher. “That’s the dynamic of our football team. I am very, very excited about the temperament of our football team.”

One thing that excites Fisher is the talent that is on his roster. He understands just how special the Aggies could be in 2023.

“I know we have a talented football team,” said Fisher. “Guys have developed their talent well. But you can be talented and not be a good football player… Great players and great teams do the ordinary things better than anyone.”

The Texas A&M HC put other teams around the SEC on notice and stated that his team has a chip on their shoulder because they want to prove everyone wrong.

“You have a chip on your shoulder. You want to prove that is not who we are… You don’t forget. You learn from it, and then you don’t let it happen again.”

Fisher and the Aggies can start proving people wrong on Sept. 2 against New Mexico in the season opener. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
