Texas A&M is gearing up for its first road game of the season and a crucial SEC opener in Week 3. However, it’s possible the Aggies head into that matchup without their starting quarterback.

On Thursday, the Aggies released their SEC-mandated availability report for the game. This is the first year the league is requiring availability reports for conference games, and Conner Weigman was included as “questionable” for the game.

According to the SEC’s criteria, a “questionable” designation means a player is uncertain to play/50% chance to play in the upcoming game.

Weigman as gotten off to a rocky start to the season, completing just 12-of-30 passes in the loss to Notre Dame with 100 yards and 2 interceptions. He was much more effective against McNeese State, going 11-for-14 through the air with 125 yards and 2 touchdowns to go with 39 rushing yards before giving way to the backups.

If Weigman cannot go, Marcel Reed was the QB to replace Weigman in the blowout win over McNeese. Reed was 5-for-11 passing the ball for 71 yards while adding 43 yards on the ground, but facing Florida in The Swamp would be a different task entirely.

We’ll see what Weigman’s status looks like as we get closer to kickoff, but Florida is having its own QB discussions this week. True freshman DJ Lagway starred playing in the place of Graham Mertz in Week 2, but Mertz is expected to be back and healthy in Week 3.
