Texas A&M WR Christian Kirk could have easily skipped the Belk Bowl against Wake Forest, but he wanted to likely finish out his career in style. The draft-eligible junior will likely declare for the NFL Draft soon.

And Kirk was having a huge game midway through the third quarter — 152 receiving yards and three TDs, but things took a scary turn shortly thereafter.

RB Trayveon Williams took the handoff and ran to the left side of the field. Meanwhile, Kirk was blocking a defensive back, and his ankle was rolled up while the defender tackled Williams.

Initially, Kirk stayed down on the sideline and the cart started out onto the field. Thankfully, Kirk was able to get up and walk around under his own power — and looked much better doing so than previously thought.

Hopefully, it was just a minor ankle injury.

Update: Kirk returned to the field the very next series, and it appears that he’s fine.
