Tennessee landed its first defensive back in the 2020 recruiting cycle on Monday by gaining the commitment of Art Green of Hutchinson Community College. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Green does not currently have a rating on the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Despite not having a rating, Green does have an impressive set of offers from around the SEC. Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Kentucky have all offered Green in 2019. Green originally signed with Arkansas State in the 2017 recruiting cycle before landing at Hutchinson.

Following this pledge, which came after a weekend visit to Knoxville, Tennessee now has seven commitments in the 2020 recruiting cycle. The Volunteers class currently ranks No. 30 nationally and No. 10 in the SEC and will remain at those rankings following Green’s commitment until his ranking is adjusted.

He announced his pledge to Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee program on Monday with the following statement:

“First, I would like to thank all my family and friends for supporting me and standing by my side through this long process. I would also like to thank all the coaches that took the time to recruit me. Most of all I would want to thank God for the countless blessings he has sent me, without his guidance, I don’t know where I would be. Before I lost my mother Loretta, she told me, in God’s timing, my dreams will come true and now it’s here. The school of my choosing is a school that will help me grow on the field, but also off the field. At this time, I would like to announce I am 100% committed to the University of Tennessee.”

As you can imagine, highlights for Green were tough to come by but here’s an incredible one-handed interception he made during his career at Hutchinson:

UPDATE: Green is now listed as a four-star prospect and the nation’s No. 2 overall junior college prospect following his commitment to Tennessee.
