Butch Jones addresses his strong, emotional reaction in TN Tech game

During Tennessee’s 55-0 win over Tennessee Tech, head coach Butch Jones was the subject of some controversy.

Jones decided to have the Vols kick a field goal as opposed to going for it on fourth down. The hometown crowd wasn’t too pleased with the decision — as it booed loudly.

The head coach was then caught on camera muttering something rather colorful. It was thought he was responding to the crowd’s dismay.

Jones addressed the incident after the game:

"I was animated there because I wanted to score there and not kick a field goal…. I was trying to get the attention of the officials too."
