Butch Jones announces injuries, confirms starting QB for South Carolina
Head coach Butch Jones and the Tennessee Volunteers are still looking for their first SEC victory.
The Vols are getting set to host the South Carolina Gamecocks who are coming off a strong performance against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Vols had a bye week to prepare and get ready, and Jones recently called the bye week one of the best he’s had.
Nevertheless, the Vols will be heading into Saturday’s game without a couple of their players. Jones began his Wednesday press conference by announcing that DB Evan Berry and TE Jakob Johnson will be out for the contest.
Berry has been a weapon on kickoffs throughout his career with a 34.6 average on returns with four touchdowns. Johnson is a senior TE with one catch this season.

Jones also took time to confirm that the Volunteers will indeed make a switch at QB. Jarrett Guarantano will get the start Saturday over Quinten Dormady. Hughes shared the news:
