Jon Gruden is not going to Tennessee.

At least that’s what his broadcaster partner, Sean McDonough, thinks.

McDonough, who is the play-by-play man on ESPN’s Monday Night Football, joined 710 ESPN Seattle’s “Brock and Salk” on Monday and was asked about the possibility that Gruden might leave the broadcast booth to coach the Volunteers.

McDonough said he would be shocked if his partner and MNF color commentator, Gruden, went to Knoxville.

“I think he’s very happy doing what he’s doing,” McDonough said. “He hasn’t said this to me, but just being around him, I would think if he’s going to go back to coaching, it would be in the NFL … He loves Tennessee. He started his coaching career there. His wife is from there, and he has a son who is there now.

“I know he feels very passionately about the place, but I would be very, very surprised if he were to be the next coach of the Tennessee Vols … Doesn’t mean he can’t have some fun with it.”
