A report surfaced on Tuesday afternoon that Tennessee redshirt freshman quarterback Jarrett Guarantano will start on Saturday in the Volunteers’ home game against South Carolina.

The same report noted that junior Quinten Dormady, who had been the starter up until now, was “contemplating his future” with the Vols.

Former Tennessee quarterback Sheriron Jones seemed to be intrigued by the news about the latest quarterback controversy in Knoxville.

He posted on Twitter Tuesday a set of “looking eyes” emojis, which, if written out as words, would mean something along the lines of, “hmm… interesting.”

Jones, who was once third on Tennessee’s depth chart behind Dormady and Guarantano, transferred out of the program over the off-season. He only played in one game for the Vols in 2016.
