Hendon Hooker started the season as Tennessee’s back-up quarterback, but since moving into the starting lineup to replace an injured Joe Milton, Hooker has been a revelation.

The 6-4, 218-pound transfer from Virginia Tech has completed 114-of-166 passes for 1,578 yards, 17 touchdowns, and just 2 interceptions, while rushing for 416 yards and 4 TDs.

Hooker is listed as a senior on the roster, but COVID-19 rules would allow him to return to Knoxville next season.

On Wednesday, Hooker was asked if he has given any thought to a 5th year and he said at this point his focus is on this season and that he’ll explore his future plans at a later time.

Hooker and the Volunteers are off on Saturday and will play next on November 6 at No. 12 Kentucky.
