Well, that didn’t take very long.

After officially announcing his decision to leave Tennessee on Dec. 22, it took former Volunteer quarterback J.T. Shrout just five days to announce he is headed to Colorado. Shrout announced the news on Twitter.

The California native never got much of an opportunity to showcase his skills on Rocky Top as he attempted a total of 69 passes in two seasons playing for Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee program.

Shrout finished his Tennessee career completing 37 of 69 passes for 494 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions. The majority of his reps came this season, following Jarrett Guarantano’s continued struggles in Knoxville.

After Guarantano threw his second pick six against Kentucky, Shrout came in off the bench and immediately threw an interception on his first pass attempt. He did not see the field again until nearly two months later against Florida.

Shrout then got to finish out the season appearing in the Vanderbilt and Texas A&M games before Tennessee’s season came to an end.

Now Shrout will be continuing his career playing for Karl Dorrell in Boulder.
