Joe Milton has Tennessee on the board less than 20 seconds into Week 4. That’s already a better start than last week.

The Vols’ signal caller did it with his legs this time, rushing for an 81-yard touchdown scamper on the very first play of the game against UTSA Saturday.

Check it out:

Milton is not exactly known for his speed, but he has always had the ability to run the ball due to his athleticism and size alone. Even if these safeties don’t seem to be particularly speedy, that’s quite the play from the super-senior.

And the Vols needed it. Not because they can’t beat up on UTSA today, but because they’ve struggled to start games so far this season. Tennessee had poor starts set the tone against both Austin Peay and Florida in Weeks 2 and 3, respectively.

Tennessee forced a 3-and-out on UTSA’s ensuing possession and will get the ball back looking to add to its lead shortly. Let’s see if the Vols can put this thing to bed before the end of the first half.
