Tee Martin is coming home.

The legendary Vols quarterback will join Jeremy Pruitt’s coaching staff in some capacity, per ESPN’s Chris Low. His title and contract details are still being finalized. Tennessee currently has a full coaching staff, and Pruitt will have to make room for Martin by removing a current assistant.

Martin, of course, quarterbacked the Vols national championship team 20 years ago, and no doubt, this is a thrilling addition for everyone involved at Tennessee. The former signal caller chose to return to Knoxville over interest from Alabama, Auburn, Louisville, Maryland and Vanderbilt, per the report.

Martin most recently was the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at USC (2016-18). He previously coached at Kentucky, New Mexico and Atlanta-area high schools. He’s known as a strong recruiter with ties to Georgia and Alabama, and with the addition of Martin, Tennessee’s recruiting efforts just got much stronger.

Tennessee recently hired new offensive coordinator Jim Chaney from Georgia.
