Tennessee baseball added its 3rd transfer commitment of the offseason on Wednesday afternoon.

The Vols picked up a pledge from Wichita State pitcher Nate Snead, who possesses one of the top fastballs in the country. Snead hit 100 miles per hour from the mound as a freshman with the Shockers.

Here’s his announcement:

Snead joins a Tennessee team that will have high expectations in 2024. He’s set to help replace Chase Burns, who entered the transfer portal earlier this week after a successful year in Tennessee’s bullpen.

At Wichita State in 2023, Snead appeared in 24 games and struck out 53 batters in 42.2 innings of work. He also posted an ERA of 3.16 with the Shockers.

Tennessee’s other incoming transfers this offseason include pitcher AJ Causey and catcher Cannon Peebles.

Snead is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.
