Quart’e Sapp is forgoing his final year of college eligibility and entering the 2019 NFL Draft.
But the linebacker greatly enjoyed his time at Tennessee, as he made clear in the heartwarming announcement video he tweeted Friday afternoon.

Sapp made sure to thank his coaches, teammates and Volunteers fans for his time in Knoxville. The 6-foot-2, 223-pound linebacker appeared in 27 games across his four years at Tennessee — including two in his 2016 redshirt season — and finished with 111 tackles, four tackles for loss and two passes defensed. His best season came in 2017, when he started eight games and finished fourth on the team with 78 tackles.
The lasting image of Sapp’s redshirt junior season might be his involvement in a sideline incident during Tennessee’s loss to Florida, but it seems like Sapp will be taking nothing but good memories with him as he attempts to make an NFL roster.
