Tennessee takeover? Sea of Orange seen at Ohio Stadium ahead of Vols vs. Buckeyes

There are at least 30,000 Tennessee fans at The Shoe in Columbus ahead of No. 9 Tennessee at No. 8 Ohio State.

Reports came out prior to Saturday that Vols fans were expected to travel well for this matchup. And it makes sense. Columbus is only a 6-hour drive from Knoxville, and Tennessee is fighting for a spot in the national championship game for the first time since 1998. Not to mention, some Ohio State fans are a little unhappy with head coach Ryan Day following Ohio State’s regular season loss to Michigan.

I mean, just look at this.

Keep in mind, this is not planned or mandated by the College Football Playoff. Ohio State’s code for tickets was leaked online (OSUFB, per reports) and Tennessee fans took advantage. Kirk Herbstreit, who is calling the game, said ahead of the matchup that he has “Never seen this many opposing colors” in Ohio Stadium.

This turnout is massive for Tennessee, which has struggled on the road this season. But with upwards of 30K Vols fans in attendance, they’ll have some noise on their side too.

Check out this unreal video of Tennessee’s first rendition of “Rocky Top” during pregame.
