Tennessee lost RBs Jalen Hurd (to transfer in the middle of the season) and Alvin Kamara (NFL Draft) last year, but return junior John Kelly, who will be the Vols’ featured back this fall.

One of the toughest things to replace will be Kamara’s pass-catching abilities, but Kelly showed on Friday that he has some receiving skills of his own.

As you can see in the video below, Kelly makes an incredible one-handed grab on a pass that was behind him, looking a lot like former LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr. in the process:

Kelly only caught six passes for 51 yards in 2016, but as his role increases this fall, so too should his receiving statistics.

If he can continue making plays like this one, the Vols will have quite a weapon coming out of the backfield.
