It’s been nearly a month since Georgia State upset Tennessee in Knoxville, 38-30, but the Panthers are still getting mileage out of the shocking result. In the weeks since, they’ve made T-shirts and offered special ticket packages to commemorate the big win.

Now, they’re piggy-backing off of comments from Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn, who is preparing to play the Tennessee Titans.

After the Falcons’ official Twitter account shared a press conference comment from Quinn about focusing on Tennessee, and “ONLY Tennessee,” the Panthers’ Twitter account retweeted that, and added, “Beating Tennessee is fun…trust us.”

It’s difficult to imagine a program getting more mileage out of an upset than Georgia State has, and it speaks to the historic nature of the upset. University of Maryland-Baltimore County may have gone a long way in that regard following its upset of Virginia in 2018 in the men’s basketball NCAA Tournament.

Georgia State went on to beat Furman the week after Tennessee, but has since suffered losses to Western Michigan and Texas State, which went to three overtimes.

The Panthers are off this week and return to action Oct. 5 against Arkansas State. Tennessee is also off this week and will play host to Georgia next week.
