Vanderbilt has recorded another big win over Tennessee.

It was announced over Tuesday night that four-star DB Brendon Harris has committed to the Commodores. It is especially significant as Harris used to be committed to the Volunteers.

Harris announced his commitment by updating his Twitter account to simply say “Vanderbilt University commit.”

Harris is ranked by 247 Sports as the sixth best player in the state of Tennessee for the class of 2018. He is the 17th ranked safety in the nation.

Losing Harris is another disappointing headline for Butch Jones and the Vols this season. Botch schools are facing an uphill battle to become bowl eligible this season, and the traditional season-ending rivalry matchup will be an interesting one.

Getting Harris will go down as a win for Vanderbilt and Derek Mason. The Commodores started strong this season before falling off, but Mason is doing his best to build for the future on the recruiting trail.
