Kalen DeBoer is the new head coach of the Washington Huskies. As he’s filling out his first staff, he apparently has his eyes on an SEC assistant.

Per FootballScoop.com, Vanderbilt’s defensive line coach is strongly in the mix to head to Seattle to join DeBoer’s staff:

Vanderbilt defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield is a strong candidate to join Kalen DeBoer’s staff in Washington, sources tell FootballScoop.

Breckterfield spent 6 years at Wisconsin prior to joining Vanderbilt’s staff. He was also Pitt’s DL coach when Aaron Donald was there. Donald, who now plays for the Los Angeles Rams, is widely considered the best defensive lineman in the NFL.

FootballScoop.com reports that Vanderbilt doesn’t plan to let Breckterfield leave without a strong push to keep him, so we’ll see what happens in the coming days.
